The Department of Geographical Science, University of Maryland and NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) have worked together on various topics such as: land use and land cover change, estimation of terrestrial carbon stocks, and carbon flows between the atmosphere and the biosphere, among other areas. The establishment of a Joint Global Carbon Cycle Center (JGC3) between University of Maryland and NASA Goddard Space Flight Center will facilitate interaction and engagement on carbon issues and its related topics.
